Flatulence
It is natural for dogs to pass gas when they digest their food. Flatulence is usually not a symptom of a serious health problem.
Some things that can cause excessive flatulence :
- Poor quality pet food containing ingredients difficult to digest.
- Table scraps.
- Lactose in foods.
- Eating too fast.
- A side-effect of medication.
If you change your pet’s diet, break meals into smaller portions given several times during the day, and eliminate table scraps, and the flatulence still continues— it is time to call the veterinarian. The veterinarian can check for possible food allergies and intestinal disorders.
